Stck.me Interview Series with Sravasti Datta

Presenting the stck.me Interview Series, where, every week we speak to your favorite creators, and learn about their work and how they are using our platform to enhance their community.

On our twenty-eighth blog in this series, we speak to Sravasti Datta, Independent Journalist, and Writer, on stck.me.

In this interview series, we speak to her about her creative interests, what she majorly writes, her favorite genre when it comes to reading, listening, and looking for content on social media, and her experience with the platform, stck.me, and much more.

What was your biggest expectation from stck.me when you created your account?

I get so absorbed in the writing process that I get little time to think about website design and making my posts visually appealing. So my expectation from stck.me was that it will not only enable me to reach a wider audience but also make it easier to package my writing well.

How helpful was stck.me in catering to the expectation?

Stck.me has fulfilled my expectations. It is user-friendly and well-designed. It takes care of every aspect of design, from font to generating AI images and illustrations. The sharing features are also quite good. I like the option of downloading PDFs of our work. It makes it easier to archive my work.

I would consider my review of Nisha Abdulla's play 'We Push the Sky' as one of my favourite blogs. It motivated me to write more.

What do you majorly write about?

I am a theatre writer and an art lover. I like to write about various lifestyle topics. I also like to write short stories. I would describe my stck.me account as a mixed bag. It has reviews, previews, opinions, and short stories. When it comes to fiction writing, I veer towards writing about the stark reality of life. I also like to write about relationships, but which probe the inner lives of the protagonists. I mostly write about women's issues.

Tell us about some of your successful stck.me blogs? How did your readers react to it?

Readers responded well to two posts. One was an interview with musician, Huyana. She appreciated my writing and shared it on her Instagram account. My short story 'Lost Generations', about a mother-daughter relationship, received positive responses. Readers told me they identified with the characters.

With stck.me introducing new features with time, do you think that has contributed to the ease of creating content on the platform?

Yes, introducing more features is really helpful for creators. It can sometimes get overwhelming for creators to share their work in the right platforms. This is taken care of by your team. Thank you for this.

Any suggestions you would like to give us as a team to focus more on?

I think that it would be helpful if following other stck.me accounts would be made easier.

What is your favorite genre when it comes to reading, listening, or looking for content on social media?

I like to read anything that piques my interest. I love reading news features, poetry, and short stories and I particularly like to read about food, politics, and human interest stories.
